Ronaldo is better than Messi - fact

Messi was recently crowned FIFA World Player of the Year, but the daily's comprehensive statistical study has revealed that Ronaldo is, in fact, the better of the two leading lights.
Having studied the ability of both players in several categories, Marca declared that trying to separate the pair was as tough as "choosing between a mother or father". However the publication concluded that Messi's woes with Argentina were key to him finishing behind Ronaldo.
The Marca hierarchy also praised Ronaldo, who signed for Real from Manchester United last summer in a world record transfer deal, saying: "Ronaldo gives you the feeling that he can perform to his best in any environment."

Here's how Marca decided Ronaldo ruled the roost:

3 Idiots - Review

By now, I guess the word of mouth is already out. It shouldn't be news to anyone that 3 Idiots surely deserves three cheers, and more. But the first thing you realize about this film is not that a 44-year-old Aamir Khan can play a 22-year-old college kid, and he can get away with it. Two friends [Madhavan and Sharman Joshi] embark on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey, they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash, and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. A lot can be said purely through songs and suspensions of disbelief. And a wonderful genre called comedy. The film is actually a fairly serious take on a cruel examination system that gets passed off for an education system in this country.

We produce IIT graduates who take up high-paying jobs. We don't make original thinkers who could pick up a Nobel prize for an invention. Aamir's Rancho is actually one such natural genius. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins: their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend--the irrepressible free-thinker Rancho [Aamir Khan], who in his unique way, touched and changed their lives. He obviously can't fit into an Indian classroom, where all you have to do is mug up, to rise up. He plays the fool. But he still tops the tests. His two friends remain flunkeys throughout. And that is because, one of them, is burdened by his family's expectations and a fear of exams. The other is passionate about wildlife photography, and not physics. It’s a story of their hostel days that swings between Rancho’s romance with the spirited Pia [Kareena Kapoor], and his clash with an oppressive mentor, Viru Sahastrabudhhe [Boman Irani]. And then one day, suddenly, Rancho vanished… Who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he leave? The friend who influenced and inspired them to think creatively and independently, even as the conformist world called them three idiots. Where is the original idiot now? Finally, in misty mountains of unparalleled beauty, the friends find the key to the secret. Three Idiots is a comedy of ideas that is as provocative as it is funny, as wildly entertaining as it is insightful.

In India, even now, you should either be in engineering or medicine. It's usually the parents' promissory note. It's also a suicide note for many. The hilarious skits between the three friends and their dull, dreaded professor here, Virus, played by Boman Irani, reveal a non-stop Munnabhai comedy with a similar purpose. Rancho takes on Virus and the system. Virus takes on Rancho, and his friends. And one day, Rancho completely disappears. Many years later, his friends go out in search of who he was. As Raju Hirani says, this film is about five per cent of Chetan Bhagat's bestseller Five Point Someone. This is in fact a hardcore Bollywood flick, which demands its own share of subjectivity while you watch many parts of the story fit very conveniently into the larger scheme.

The filmmakers know just when to throw in that emotional low, after a comical high. They know when the song is most appropriate. And when melodrama will do just fine. Very few contemporary Bollywood directors understand this now. The fact that you don't feel like the fourth idiot watching 3 Idiots is, for its genre, the greatest relief. This is in every way Munnabhai - part 3. I think you shouldn't miss it at all. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization.

A speech by the new president-elect of the United States of America, Barack Obama

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.
It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled – Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.
It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years – block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek – it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.
So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers – in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves – if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

10 Benefits of Reading!

Reading is one of the best hobbies a person can have. But it’s saddening to know that majority of us aren’t introduced to the fabulous world of books. If you are one of the non-book readers who feels you “don’t need no stinking books”, here are some reasons to start the habit…before you are left behind!
  • Reading is an active mental process: Unlike sitting in front of the idiot box (TV), reading makes you use your brain. While reading you would be forced to reason out many things which are unfamiliar to you. In this process you would use the grey cells of your brain to think and become smarter.
  • Reading improves your vocabulary: Remember in elementary school when you learned how to infer the meaning of one word by reading the context of the other words in the sentence? You get the same benefit from book reading. While reading books, especially challenging ones, you will find yourself exposed to many new words you wouldn’t be otherwise.
  • Gives you a glimpse into other cultures and places of the world: How would you know about the life of people in Mexico if you don’t read about it? Reading gives you an insight into the diversity of ethnicity of people, their customs, their lifestyles etc. You become more aware about the different places and the code of conduct in those places.
  • Improves concentration and focus: It requires you to focus on what you are reading for long periods. Unlike magazines, Internet posts or e-Mails that might contain small chunks of information, books tell the whole story. Since you must concentrate in order to read, like a muscle, you will get better at concentration.
  • Builds self-esteem: The more you read, the more knowledgeable you become. With more knowledge comes more confidence. More confidence builds self-esteem. So it’s a chain reaction. Since you are so well read, people look to you for answers. Your feelings about yourself can only get better.
  • Improves memory: Many studies show if you don’t use your memory, you lose it. Crossword puzzles are an example of a word game that staves off Alzheimer’s. Reading, although not a game, helps you stretch your memory muscles in a similar way. Reading requires remembering details, facts and figures and in literature, plot lines, themes and characters.
  • Improves your discipline: Making time to read is something we all know we should do, but who schedules book reading time every day? Very few… That’s why adding book reading to your daily schedule and sticking to it, improves discipline.
  • Improves creativity: Reading about diversity of life and exposing yourself to new ideas and more information helps to develop the creative side of the brain as it imbibes innovation into your thinking process.
  • You always have something to talk about: Have you ever found yourself in an embarrassing situation where you didn’t have anything to talk about? Did you hate yourself for making a fool of yourself? Do you want a remedy for this? It’s simple. Start reading. Reading widens your horizon of information. You’ll always have something to talk about. You can discuss various plots in the novels you read, you can discuss the stuff you are learning in the business books you are reading as well. The possibilities of sharing become endless.
  • Reduces boredom: One of the rules I have is if I am feeling bored, I will pick up a book and start reading. What I’ve found by sticking to this is that I become interested in the book’s subject and stop being bored. I mean, if you’re bored anyway, you might as well be reading a good book, right?

Rupee Vs Dollar

Demand for a particular currency is determined by many factors, including:
- Country's inflation,
- Interest rates,
- Political and economic outlook,
- Monetary policies, and
- Speculation.
The U.S. dollar does not move uniformly against all currencies - it can be rising against one currency while it is declining against another.

Currency exchange rates tend to be affected by macroeconomic variables, such as the major economic indicators released by governments at fixed intervals. For instance, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment rate, and even current interest rates (prime rates) can all affect currency exchange rates. However, it is possible for major political events (such as elections, wars, etc.) to also affect currency exchange rates. Even commodities (gold, oil prices, wheat, etc.) may affect the exchange rates between countries.

But commodity price shifts will not affect all nations, or their currencies, in the same manner. After all, nations with moderate supplies of a commodity will not have their currency affected as greatly by price shifts as nations who are have little to no supply of their own. In the same vein, for example, nations who have vast oil supplies and who therefore have a significant portion of their economies tied to crude prices will see strong correlations between commodity prices and their currency exchange rate. When the domestic economy is greatly affected by commodity price shifts, then the currency is especially vulnerable. Even for nations whose currency is strongly correlated with commodity pricing, different commodities will affect the currency differently (or perhaps not at all). By knowing which commodities are strongly correlated to which countries, an FX trader can better predict how commodity price shifts will affect currency exchange rates.
It is very difficult to pin point the exact reason for decline in dollar rate vis a vis Indian Rupee, however, the strong position of the Rupee seems to be due to better Economic situation in India.

What is inflation and what causes it?

The inflation rate (WPI) for the week ended February 3 was 6.73 percent, the highest in two years. This gave rise to a lot of talk about why the rate was going up. The RBI increased the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 50 basis points and had previously increased the repo rate (the rate at which the RBI lends money to banks). Everyone has `inflation' on their lips but it is worth looking at what exactly inflation is, and how it arises.
Inflation pared down to the essentials means a rise in an index consisting of many goods that have weights attached to them. The index always has a base year. If a particular item has a higher weight and its price rises, it will have a greater effect on the inflation rate. At the end of the day it depends on how much weight a particular item is assigned. Most countries use a consumer price index (CPI) while India has a wholesale price index (WPI).

As their names suggest, the CPI pertains to a set of items that a consumer consumes while the WPI is a basket particular to the wholesale market. Therefore, if the inflation for a particular week is, say, 10 per cent, it means the index is 10 per cent higher than it was the same week the previous year. Then there is core-inflation, which means the inflation rate without taking into account food and fuel. Some say both need to be taken out because of their volatility, while some argue that both items cannot be taken out because a consumer does pay for the rise in their prices. The people arguing for the latter do have a point.

Milton Friedman once said: "Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon." What exactly does that mean? It essentially means that inflation is always caused because of too much money in the system. In other words, inflation in a country is always caused because the supply of money is much greater than the demand for it. However, Prof Friedman later changed that to: "Substantial inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon," meaning that hyperinflation (a monthly inflation rate of 50 per cent or more) is caused because of too much money in the system and is usually the result of the central bank printing too much money to finance government operations.

7 dont's after a meal

  • Don't smoke-Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher).
  • Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal.
  • Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.
  • Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted &blocked.
  • Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
  • Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.
  • Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

Quick Tips For ICWAI exams.

(Just before exams)
  1. Make proper use of suggested answers especially before exams
  2. One day before exams do not study new topic but revise what you have already learn.
  3. Before exams spend some time writing on long ruled sheets. It will improve your speed and neatness. See some problems for practice.
  4. Use the same calculator before and during the exams
  5. In the exams, write the formulas, format, steps, assumptions, notes, working notes clearly.
  6. Stay for 3 hours in the exam hall.
  7. Even if you do not know anything, sit down, think hard and write neatly.
  8. Do not let the 'carry forward effect'. That is, if you do not do well in one paper, you should not let that affect your studies and exams of other papers.
  9. Do not discuss with your friends before and after the exams. Please discuss when all the exams are over (to improve your self).
  10. Make all your resource ready in advance, your pens, scale, writing pad, hall tickets, pencil, calculator, a file to keep your question papers after the exams, water bottle, carry bag etc at least one day before.
All the Best

How Much Do Americans Move Up and Down the Economic Ladder?

The incomes of American families change frequently. Some of the poor get richer, some of the rich get poorer, and for a variety of reasons: accumulation of job skills and experience, marriage and divorce, job change, addition or loss of a second paycheck, and business success or failure.
But despite this churning, overall rates of mobility in the United States have not changed over time. Thus, it is fair to conclude that increases in annual inequality have worsened the distribution of lifetime incomes. Although the disparity in economic rewards has increased, the availability of those rewards—the probability of success or failure—has remained unchanged.

There has been one notable development within this broader picture, however. The mobility of those with little education has declined. Increasingly, a college education is the ticket to upward mobility.

The question of how much inequality is acceptable or appropriate in the United States is an issue on which there is no agreement. Still, it is somewhat disturbing to learn that the seemingly relentless growth in the inequality of economic rewards has been unmitigated by any increase in access to those rewards, especially for those with the fewest skills.

Why did huge fall happens in share market?

Many factors. One, there is a change in the global investment climate. One of the primary triggers is the huge fear of the United States' economy going into a recession with foreign institutional investors trying to reallocate their funds from risky emerging markets to stable developed markets. Analysts are now expecting a cut in US interest rates.
Hedge funds and FIIs could have been the biggest sellers in the Indian markets, booking profits and making the most of the unprecedented bull run that has dominated the Indian stock market for a long time now.
The current volatility is also linked to global bourses. There is a big correlation among global markets. The presence of hedge funds across asset classes, along with increased global movement of capital, has increased event-related volatility.
Volatility in commodities markets has also significantly affected equity markets.
A combination of global and local factors is affecting this market, said Mihir Vora of HSBC Mutual Fund, on NDTV Profit. On the global front, other emerging markets were down nearly 20% so India is playing catch-up, he said.
On the local front there has been a huge build-up in derivatives positions and volatility led to margin calls. Also many IPOs have sucked out liquidity from the primary market into the secondary market, said Vora. At current levels it would be a buy call and we would not advise investors to wait to catch the bottom, he added.

Importance of water for human being

Water is an important structural component of skin cartilage, tissues and organs. For human beings, every part of the body is dependent on water. Our body comprises about 75% water: the brain has 85%, blood is 90%, muscles are 75%, kidney is 82% and bones are 22% water. The functions of our glands and organs will eventually deteriorate if they are not nourished with good, clean water.
The average adult loses about 2.5 litres water daily through perspiration, breathing and elimination. Symptoms of the body's deterioration begins to appear when the body loses 5% of its total water volume. In a healthy adult, this is seen as fatigue and general discomfort, whereas for an infant, it can be dehydrating. In an elderly person, a 5% water loss causes the body chemistry to become abnormal, especially if the percentage of electrolytes is overbalanced with sodium. One can usually see symptoms of aging, such as wrinkles, lethargy and even disorientation. Continuous water loss over time will speed up aging as well as increase risks of diseases.
If your body is not sufficiently hydrated, the cells will draw water from your bloodstream, which will make your heart work harder. At the same time, the kidneys cannot purify blood effectively. When this happens, some of the kidney's workload is passed on to the liver and other organs, which may cause them to be severely stressed. Additionally, you may develop a number of minor health conditions such as constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nosebleeds, urinary tract infection, coughs, sneezing, sinus pressure, and headaches.
So, how much water is enough for you? The minimum amount of water you need depends on your body weight. A more accurate calculation, is to drink an ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight.

Here is the calculation for your minimum water need per day

Your weight 75 kg
Requirement 2475 ml

YOU NEED TO DRINK THIS AMOUNT OF WATER PER DAY 2.5 liters
